FAQs

What should you expect from your first therapy appointment?

The initial intake will consist of a broad overview of getting to know you and your motivations for attending therapy. I will begin with reviewing procedures and policies, answering any questions you may have about the process. This session will consist of questions to help me get to know you and your therapeutic goals.

How much do sessions cost?

I am in-network with United Healthcare, Cigna, and AETNA insurances. My out of pocket rate is $150 for an intake appointment and $130 for appointments following. Clients who choose to pay out of pocket will receive a Good Faith Estimate in accordance with the No Surprise Act.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

A good faith estimate is used to ensure you are not surprised for medical bills. If you are paying out of pocket, this will be completed before the first intake session. You will receive an estimated cost of therapy to make a fully informed decision.

Is there a fee for missing appointments?

Please note that there is a fee of $75 for missed sessions or no-shows. To avoid this charge, kindly cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance. Additionally, I reserve the right to postpone rescheduling until all outstanding fees are paid. Thank you for your understanding!

How does Teletherapy work?

I want to let you know that I am solely a telehealth therapist and do not have a physical office. I can only work with clients who are present in the state of Virginia. Our sessions will be conducted using a HIPAA-compliant platform accessible through your patient portal. Please make sure you are in a safe and private space to protect your confidentiality during our sessions. If we encounter any unforeseen technical issues, we'll work together to create a plan to resolve them.

What type of therapy do you practice?

In our work together, I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches because there is no one-size-fits-all model. My focus is on being client-centered and prioritizing your well-being. Some of the modalities I use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care. Together, we’ll find the best approach that resonates with you and supports your goals.
